Do you want to help shape a newly started LSS operation for children?
Vintergatan is a children's residence according to 9 § 8 LSS that opened in August 2025.
At the residence, two children with intellectual disabilities and autism live. The operation is staffed by a total of 12 employees, of whom 6 work awake night shifts and 6 work days, evenings, and weekends. We have a close collaboration with guardians, schools, nurses, and occupational therapists to jointly provide the best possible support for the children.
We are now looking forward to welcoming one more employee to our team!
Your responsibilities
As staff at Vintergatan, you work to ensure that each child has a safe, developing, and meaningful everyday life. Together in the team, we create the best conditions for the children to grow, develop, and be involved in their lives – every day.
Your role includes, among other things:
- Supporting and participating with the children in their daily activities, both at home and outdoors
- Driving to school with Vintergatan's car and participating in meetings with e.g. the school, habilitation, BUP
- Assisting the children with personal hygiene
- Being responsible for usual household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and washing dishes
- Maintaining close dialogue with the children's parents and relatives
- Documenting in journals and care plans
- Medication delegation and handling of epileptic seizures
- Collaborating with the manager and colleagues, including during regular APT meetings
Outwardly aggressive and self-harming behavior may occur. Planning with other operations will be part of the job responsibilities.
Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.
About you
To succeed and thrive in the job with us, you have a good ability to collaborate and be flexible. Of course, you have a professional approach towards the children, relatives, and other actors around. You are engaged, share our values, and want to develop and work towards set goals together with the manager and colleagues. As the children are quick, it is also required that you have good mobility and energy. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements
- Approved high school education
- Experience working in care and nursing or with children in childcare/school
- Swimming ability, as we will be swimming with the children in the future
- Driver's license (B), to be able to drive the children
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, to communicate with the children, relatives, and colleagues, write and participate in documentation, and obtain medication delegation
Meritorious
- Trained nursing assistant, childcare worker, or other education that the employer considers equivalent
- Experience working with children with disabilities
- Experience in either low-arousal approach, epilepsy, AAC, or TAKK
- Experience with the operational system Treserva
Other
As we work with children, smoking is not allowed during working hours.
